Samantha Mohr
Entering her first pageant at the advice by a fellow UGA student, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. The title made her eligible to compete in the Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. Mohr was awarded her title as Miss Georgia 1985, on Saturday 22 June 1985. Mohr earned over $3500 in cash scholarships as well as other prizes at the state pageant. Her activities as Miss Georgia included public appearances at spots across Georgia. Mohr represented Georgia in the Miss America 1986 pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey on September 15, 1985. Mohr was able to determine his prediction that Susan Akin would win Miss America by computer modeling. The odds of winning were 22:1. Mohr didn't make the list of the top 10 contenders for the Miss America crown. Mohr's time in the role of Miss Georgia lasted until she succeeded her successor Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28th in 1986.
